DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Preston Hollow Capital announced today that it has hired Paige Deskin as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Deskin replaces the retiring Mike Cousins in the CFO role, and will oversee Preston Hollow Capital’s accounting, financial reporting and treasury functions, and provide support in corporate acquisition and capital raising efforts.
“Paige brings great depth to the CFO role with her combination of public accounting, treasury and public company experience,” said Jim Thompson, the Chairman and CEO of Preston Hollow Capital. Launched in January 2014 by former leaders of ORIX USA Corporation, Preston Hollow Capital is an independent specialty finance company that serves as a solution provider in municipal finance. “She was a valued colleague when we were together at ORIX USA and we are delighted that she is joining the PHC team.”
Mr. Cousins, who postponed his retirement for two years to help Mr. Thompson launch Preston Hollow Capital, was part of the firm’s effort to recruit Deskin. “I have tremendous confidence in Paige from our years working together at ORIX USA. She’s well-suited to oversee the finance and accounting function for this fast-growing business.”
“We couldn’t have gotten our business off the ground without Mike,” Mr. Thompson said about Mr. Cousin’s retirement. “He has been instrumental in PHC’s initial success, and we’re grateful that he’s agreed to stay involved to facilitate a smooth transition of the CFO responsibilities to Paige.”
Before joining PHC, Ms. Deskin was Vice President – Finance with SWK Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SWKH), a specialized finance company which provides capital solutions to a broad range of life science companies, where she was principally focused on the company’s financial reporting and SEC filings, as well as accounting of the company’s royalty, loan and security portfolios.
Prior to joining SWK Holdings Corporation, she was Controller of ORIX USA Corporation for eight years, responsible for the accounting and consolidated financial reporting of the company’s lines of business, with substantial involvement in the treasury, human resources and credit review functions. During her time at ORIX USA, Ms. Deskin was involved in the relocation of the U.S. operations from New York to Dallas, the sale of its master servicing platform to Key Bank and the acquisition of Houlihan Lokey. Before entering the private sector, Ms. Deskin was a manager in KPMG’s audit practice with both public and private clients primarily in the banking and telecommunications industries. She is a graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting.
